Intelius is a leading provider of public data about people and their connections to others. It was founded in 2003 by former InfoSpace executives and offers information services such as background checks and reverse phone lookups.

Intelius purchased a people-focused search engine called Spock on April 30, 2009.

Family Builder, a genealogical application for Facebook, was bought by Intelius in November 2011. In 2012, Intelius rebranded "income" to serve as the corporate umbrella, and the division specializing in background checks was given the Intelius moniker.

By 2015, income was doing business once again as Intelius. On July 1, 2015, it was acquired by private equity firm HIG Capital. As part of the transaction, Abani Heller replaced Jain as CEO. Over its years of operation, Intelius has supported several charities and non-profits, including Hopelink and Overlake Service League. It has also sponsored the Seattle Humane Society and the American Red Cross.
